International Day At Carlingford High
On the 19th of July, at Carlingford High, they have had a very big day. This was the International Day.
On International Day, all the student were told to wear either mufti clothes with their national colours or some people wore their traditional clothings from their country. Though most of the poeple just wore mufti with the national colours.
The students were told to gather up on the quadrangle and had a small assembly.
As the assembly had finished year by year was told to move into the hall for the international concert. This concert had all sorts of thing going on, such as, the fashion parade, singing, dancing, there was even a small child from Roselea Public School and there was also a year 7 from Carlingford High named Tae Kim played the Korean Flute especially for us to hear.
In the fashion parade, there were students from different years at Carlingford one by one came marchng up the stairs to the hall stage and showed their traditional clothing to the audience. Some where form India, Scotland, Korea, USA, Chinese and much more.
Next up in the concert were singing, dancing and playing national intsruments. For singing their was a yr 11 guy named John Kim, which is Korean sang a love song while playing the piano, there was also Taiwanese students from the snr year who sang for us by duets. One of the songs were called,’FairyTale’ performed by two guys, and the other songs where songs by Jay Chou performed by other Taiwanese senior students.
When this concert had finished, the stores for the many different kinds of countries had open for sale. Some of the stores sold ice-creams such as chocolate, mango, banana, strawberry, green tea and more.
On the quadrangle their was a chinese Lion Dance being performed. Also next to the Korean Stall their was a mini band by the yr 11 guy students. In the band was a drum player, a keyboard player, a guitar player, and a singer. Students taking pictures and the Producer of the Korean Stall teacher was happily cheering for the band wearing the Traditioanl Korean Clothing called ,’Hanbok’.
The fun activities went on until the end of the day and all the students, parents, and other visitors had fun watching the concert, eating, and more on this special day.
Hopefully, Carlingford High School will have another International Day like this one.
